Cebu Pacific, the largest airline in the Philippines flew yet another one million passengers for the month of November 2011, a traditionally off-peak month for travel in the Philippines.

The airline flew more than 800,000 domestic and close to 223,000 international passengers from November 1 to 30, 2011, with an average load factor of 84%. Load factor refers to how full the planes are.

From January to November 2011, CEB had already flown close to 11 million passengers, keeping it on track for its 12 million target for the year.

“CEB’s low fares, extensive network and timely frequency increases were factors in the airline’s more than 1 million passengers each last April, May, October and now November. It is a privilege on our part to be the airline of choice for so many Filipino and foreign travelers. We look forward to serving more passengers this December,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

“We are adding flights to Hong Kong Boracay, Davao, Cebu, Iloilo, Tacloban and Dumaguete, for the benefit of more travelers during the holidays. CEB remains committed to boosting travel and tourism within the Philippines and to key destinations in the Asia-Pacific,” she added.

CEB earlier reported that its December 2011 bookings increased by 23% this year compared to last year, driven by a 27% increase in international bookings.

Given the upcoming peak travel period, Iyog encouraged passengers to avail of CEB’s free web check-in and free seat selection through the website’s ‘Manage Bookings’ section. “Passengers should also go to the airport earlier, in anticipation of traffic and airport security queues,” she said.

CEB’s free web check-in service is available on all Airbus flights, from 48 hours up to 4 hours before the flight. Guests who already checked in online only need to drop bags off or present travel documents (for international flights) at the web check-in counter 45 minutes before the flight. Those on domestic flights with no check-in luggage may proceed to the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before the flight.

For bookings and inquiries, guests can go to www.cebupacificair.com, or call the reservation hotlines (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888. They may also book online and pay via CEB partner banks. The latest seat sales and promos can also be found on CEB’s official Twitter and Facebook pages.

CEB currently operates 10 Airbus A319, 19 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. By the end of 2011, CEB will be operating a fleet of 37 aircraft – with an average age of 3.6 years – one of the most modern aircraft fleets in the world. Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 23 Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft orders, and 2 Airbus A320 aircraft on operating lease agreements.

The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB) increases its December flights to chosen destinations, in anticipation of the peak travel season.

CEB adds an additional daily frequency to its Manila-Hong Kong route, giving passengers an option between five daily flights. CEB’s Manila-Singapore route also gets a boost with an additional daily flight, making it a four times daily service.

Manila-Ho Chi Minh and Clark-Bangkok also get a new six times weekly frequency, while Clark-Hong Kong and Clark-Singapore flights are now daily.

For domestic routes, the airline also added flights for the following routes: flights from Manila to Roxas, Iloilo, Kalibo, Ozamiz and Virac, and from Cebu to Iloilo, Surigao and Zamboanga. Those who wish to go to Manila or Cebu can also take Cebu-Clark flights for more available seats.

“We wanted to widen the availability of seats for our passengers because there are a lot of people who travel during Christmas break. Our Kalibo (Boracay) flights, for example, still have available seats from December 26-30, 2009, especially after we increased our Manila-Kalibo frequency to 8-10 flights per day,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

“We encourage our CEB passengers to arrive at the airport early during peak travel period. It is also advised to book in advance to take advantage of our trademark low fares,” she added.

Passengers can call (02)7020-888 or (032)230-8888, visit CEB ticketing offices and accredited travel agencies or check out the website www.cebupacificair.com for their booking needs. Those without credit cards can now book online and pay via CEB partner banks (Megalink, Bancnet, Banco de Oro, Metrobank and Robinsons Savings Bank).

CEB, Asia’s third-largest low-cost carrier, flies to 32 domestic and 14 international destinations using one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the country. It has the most extensive domestic network in the Philippines and offers the lowest year-round fares.

Starting December 1, 2009, leading domestic airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) will offer new products for the additional convenience of its guests.

The name change option allows passengers to transfer their tickets to another passenger for a fee.

Meanwhile, the travel fund allows passengers to use the value of changed flights within 90 days from the date the fund is created, or to transfer the booking to another passenger. The fund eliminates the waiting time for refunds. Passengers can immediately use the stored amount for their next booking.

CEB will also begin using a new booking and cancellation policy starting December 1, 2009.

Under the new rules, passengers can change their ticket more than one day before departure date. This includes modifying flight, route, date of travel and name, or canceling flights.

Involuntary flight disruptions (such as cancellations or delays by CEB) of three hours or more allows passengers to refund or store booking in the Travel Fund for future travel without penalties within 30 days.

In cases of situations beyond the airline’s control (like weather), tickets are not refundable but passengers may rebook flights without penalties as long as travel is completed within 30 days. Passengers may also store booking in the Travel Fund, but with a penalty since these disruptions are beyond CEB’s control.

“The new policy and Travel Fund benefit passengers by allowing them the use of travel credits anytime within its validity period,” CEB vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said.

“Our low fares and improved on-time performance (OTP) led to a steady increase in passengers and their concern for convenience is an important consideration for CEB. The new business policy provides greater flexibility to passengers while retaining the advantage of very low fares,” CEB vice president for marketing and distribution Candice she added.

CEB, the country’s leader in innovative products, was also the first to introduce the all-inclusive pricing scheme, ‘Go Lite’ fares, e-ticketing, continues to differentiate itself from other low cost carriers by offering a reliable product with exemplary customer service. The airline, Asia’s third largest low-cost carrier and the Philippines’ no.1 in terms of passenger volume and serviced routes, flies to 32 domestic and 14 international destinations using the youngest fleet in the country.

To extend its trademark low fares to more Juans, Cebu Pacific (CEB) will soon increase its frequencies to Catarman, Calbayog, Tuguegarao, Naga and Kalibo.

Starting August 16, 2009, CEB’s flights to Catarman and Calbayog (currently four times and three times weekly, respectively) will become daily flights. The lowest Go Lite fare for both destinations is P888.

Meanwhile, passengers can also choose between morning and afternoon flights with the additional frequency for Tuguegarao, also starting August 16, 2009. From daily flights, it will now fly 11 times weekly. Passengers can avail of the lowest Go Lite fare of P688.

CEB will also increase its Naga twice daily flights to thrice daily flights starting August 16, 2009. The lowest Go Lite fare is P588.

To cap it off, the Kalibo service will soon become seven times daily, up from 46 times weekly, starting August 1, 2009. Passengers can avail of the lowest Go Lite fare of P588.

“We hope the additional flights will provide even more convenience to our growing passenger base in Samar, Cagayan Valley, Bicol and Aklan. Passengers from neighboring areas can now have easier and faster access to Manila and our extensive Cebu Pacific network,” said Candice Iyog, VP for Marketing and Product.

“This is in line with our ever-present commitment to boost the economy and tourism in the destinations we fly to,” she added.

Passengers can book their flights through www.cebupacificair.com or the reservations hotlines (02)70-20-888 and (032)230-88-88.

Gokongwei-owned CEB has flown over 36 million passengers since its inception in 1996. It now flies to 32 domestic destinations and 14 Asian cities from four hubs, utilizing the youngest aircraft fleet in the Philippines.

There was a time not so long ago when air travel was considered a major luxury by numerous Filipinos—one which impeded their dreams of exploring new places and experiencing breathtaking sights. However, since its inception in 1996, Cebu Pacific has continuously endeavored to help millions indulge their wanderlust by making air travel more affordable and accessible to the common Juan.

From strength to strength

As Asia’s pioneer low-cost carrier (LCC), Cebu Pacific has, over the years, introduced numerous innovations that have made traveling by air less financially prohibitive. Chief among these is their commitment to providing the country’s lowest year-round fares to help Filipino travelers visit their dream destinations in the Philippines and in Asia. Its groundbreaking offers, meanwhile, such as their trademark Piso fare and Zero fare promos, have also contributed to the company’s success as the country’s foremost value airline.

Today, Cebu Pacific continues to foster its passion for excellence by continuously seeking ways to make air travel more convenient and comfortable. Apart from constantly introducing new destinations and utilizing the country’s youngest aircraft fleet at less than 1.9 years, it also became the first airline to transfer its domestic and international operations at the NAIA Terminal 3 (T3). T3 is the newest and biggest terminal in the NAIA complex. With its world-class facilities, such as high-tech security features and spacious grounds, it makes travelling even more simple and enjoyable for Cebu Pacific’s passengers.

36 million and counting

As further proof of its success, Cebu Pacific is also gearing up for its 36th million passenger—another testament to its becoming the airline of choice for more and more Filipinos.

To celebrate this historic achievement and show its appreciation for the public’s continued support, Cebu Pacific’s 36th million passenger will be awarded an unlimited access pass for all of Cebu Pacific Air’s domestic and international flights for one year. The winner will be presented with the prize in a special ceremony to be held on July 22, the same day Cebu Pacific marks its first year at NAIA-3.

“This represents a major milestone for the company,” says Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific’s Vice-President for Marketing and Distribution. “It reminds us how much we’ve already achieved and motivates us even more to do even better.”

Cebu Pacific (CEB) now ranks 65th among world airlines in terms of having the most weekly flight based on the June 2009 OAG data online (www.oag.com).

“The improvement in ranking was a result of the airline’s sustained focus on offering the newest planes and the lowest possible fares to its passengers,” Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and distribution, said.

CEB, also Asia’s third largest low-cost carrier, serves 32 domestic destinations and flies to 14 cities in Asia with a total number of frequencies of 1,665 weekly.

Iyog said CEB is poised to further expand its reach as it takes delivery of more new aircraft. It has ordered 15 new Airbus A320 for delivery from 2010 until 2013 and is thinking whether or not it should exercise its option to buy five more.

By 2013, it should have a total of 27 Airbus aircraft and 10 turbo-prop ATRs, the youngest aircraft fleet in the Philippines.

CEB’s rapid rise to being the No. 1 domestic carrier, after making its maiden flight in 1996, was largely a result of its going all out as a low-cost carrier in 2004, offering low fares that other airlines serving the same area were forced to match.

“We are about 40 percent cheaper on average than the other airlines. So with low fares, new planes, and the convenience we offer by flying from four hubs – which allowed direct flights within regions and did away with flying via Manila – we in effect are offering what the people want and need,” she said.

The airline has also been innovative, starting with its in-flight fun games and later on being first in offering things such as etickets, online booking, and even cheaper fares when traveling without any check-in bag, among others.

CEB uses its four hubs – Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Clark – to fly a total of 1,401-times weekly within the Philippines and a total of 264–times weekly in Asia.

“We will continue to seek ways to expand and make more people fly. We have a great business model that has shown domestic growth despite the present global downturn. We are confident that our march to further growth will continue,” she said.

CEB carried 6.7 million passengers last year and expects to carry close to nine million this year. From 2010 onwards, the numbers should jump as more aircraft are deployed to serve an ever-growing list of destinations.

Offers as low as P2,799 for international and P688 for domestic flights

CEB’s RP-North Asia passenger carriage rose by 100,364. It increased to 944,063 for the period of June 2008 to May 2009 from 843,699 for the period of June 2007 to May 2008.

Despite the global economic conditions, Cebu Pacific (CEB), Asia’s 3rd largest low-cost airline, increased passenger traffic by 12% for its North Asia routes over the past 12 months ending May 31, 2009.

“Our low fares and increased capacities to serve Hong Kong, Macau, Osaka, Shanghai, Seoul (Incheon), and Busan routes, have been instrumental to sustain the growth for these markets,” Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and distribution said.

CEB, the only ASEAN low-cost carrier serving North Asia’s major destinations such as China, Japan, and Korea, is also looking into the possibility of increasing frequencies to China and Japan as it expects delivery of more aircraft in the next three years.

To further stimulate travel to North Asia, CEB is offering a P2,799 one-way ‘Go Lite’ fare for its flights from Manila and Cebu to Seoul (Incheon), Cebu to Busan, and Manila to Shanghai.

Moreover, a one-way ‘Go Fare’ from Manila to Osaka (Japan) is sold at P2,999.

The seat sale starts on June 27 to July 2, 2009 and is valid for travel from August 1 to September 30, 2009. International passengers just need to pay for travel taxes.

‘Go Lite’ fares for Manila to Bacolod, Kalibo, Roxas, Cebu, Dumagete, Boracay (Caticlan), Legaspi, San Jose (Mindoro), Tacloban, and Tagbilaran are sold at P688 all-in.

For domestic flights, CEB offers a P1,488 all-in ‘Go Lite’ fare for flights from Manila to Butuan, Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and General Santos.

The domestic seat sale starts on June 27 to July 2, 2009 and is valid for travel from July 15 to August 31, 2009. Passengers with check-in bags just need to add P200 to the fare.

CEB flies to 15 cities in Asia and 32 domestic destinations using 21 Airbus and eight ATR aircraft, with an average fleet age of less than1.9 years.
